Senior Embedded Systems Engineer

Martin Defense Group, a privately-owned defense contractor, is looking to add a Sr. Embedded Systems Engineer to its team. The incumbent will join a group of talented Engineers, Scientist, and Innovators with tremendous top-side potential devoted to solving novel technological problems with national defense implications in the fields of Cybersecurity, Autonomy, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and Naval Architecture among others.   1. Design, development, programming, debugging and testing of embedded software for advanced marine unmanned vehicles including stabilization, navigation, and integration of sensors.
  2. Programming of microcontrollers, FPGA, real-time systems.
  3. Work with project teams to develop, architect, model, and implement algorithms spanning an array of technical areas including vehicle control and automation, integration with COTS sensors and machinery, GNSS docking, integration with autonomous systems.
  4. Document work and activities, prepare and present technical analyses and results, support project and program processes, reviews and planning activities.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or other relevant technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in embedded software engineering, development, and implementation, algorithm development and analysis, and an understanding of automation of industrial systems.
  • Experience in C/C++ programming (3+ years).
  • Experience with Matlab / Python and mathematical modeling techniques for discrete and continuous time systems.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, initiative, and follow-through. 
  • US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a SECRET clearance
