JOB SUMMARY:
The Program Management Director is responsible for high-quality, on-time and on-budget execution of all programs in their assigned program portfolio. This portfolio could consist of a mix of research and development programs for DoD, NASA, and other U.S. government agencies that can range from small business grants to large multi-year programs and may include U.S. government acquisition programs of record. The Program Management Director will work with each of the Program Managers supporting the portfolio to ensure strong program performance with all objectives and milestones achieved.
In this role, the Program Management Director will work closely with the Vice President of Programs to execute the company’s strategic vision. The Program Management Director will develop and execute a plan across portfolio programs to ensure timelines, budgets, and profitability targets are met. The program Management Director ensures that the Program Managers have adequate tools and staffing resources to achieve their project objectives and collaborates closely with engineering colleagues in this endeavor.
Important duties also include communicating progress and highlighting risks, timeline delays, and other issues to senior leadership and executives.
The ideal candidate will have 10 or more years of direct experience in program management or engineering program management on programs involving engineering design, development and fabrication with DoD or other government agency customers on FAR/DFAR contracts. The candidate will have a track record of establishing and successfully managing a performance management baseline with earned value management techniques.
